What Still Holds Me
We are shaped as much by what carries us as by what has broken us.
"Our stories are rarely written on paper.
They settle quietly into our skin, our posture, our silences. They become the invisible threads that shape who we are.
In this painting, the human form slowly emerges from layers of texture, linen and handwritten fragments. Parts dissolve into the background while others remain firmly present, reminding us that identity is never a finished portrait—it is something we continuously carry, mend and rediscover.
The linen wrapping the body speaks of healing rather than restraint. Of tenderness offered to what has been wounded.
Not everything needs to disappear in order for us to move forward.
Sometimes we simply learn to carry it differently."
